15.7 Set parameters for Data Matrix and GS1 DataMatrix
In the “Object settings” tab, you can specify parameters for Data Matrix and GS1 DataMatrix.
• To edit the parameters of a Data Matrix or GS1 DataMatrix code, select the object in the
object list or in the marking image editor.
The parameters are displayed in the category below the object list.
Specify any of the following parameters:
• “Character type” (Data Matrix):
Select the mode depending on the character type (“Alphanumeric” or “Kanji”).
• “Symbol size”:
Specify the symbol size (number of modules). The allowed number of input characters
depends on the selected symbol size. If “Auto” is set, the version is selected automatically
depending on the code data.
• “Number of quiet modules”:
Specify the width of the quiet zone that surrounds the code.
Setting range: Auto (n) or 1–9. “(n)” indicates the number of modules.
If “Auto” is selected, the quiet zone width is set according to the code's requirements for
the minimum width. For Data Matrix and GS1 DataMatrix the quiet zone width is set to
one module.
• “Module height [mm]”:
Enter a numeric value to specify the height of a module.
• “Module width [mm]”:
Enter a numeric value to specify the width of a module.
• “Total width [mm]”, “Total height [mm]”:
Displays the entire width and height of the code, including the quiet zone.
