3 Laser Marker NAVI smart basics
• “Online”: Information about the connected laser marking system (model number, serial
number and the laser marker name if it was set) are displayed in the title bar.
• “Offline”: The model name of the laser marking system and the name of the marking file
(.lms) that is being edited are displayed in the title bar.
• “Backup”: The model number of the backed up laser marking system and the name of the
backup (.lmb) that is being edited are displayed in the title bar.
Screen tabs (2)
The selectable tabs vary depending on the application mode. In online mode (e.g. logged in
as administrator and with remote mode set to off), you will see the following screen tabs:
• “Startup”
• “Marking settings”
• “Monitor”
• “Maintenance”
• “Data management”
• “System settings”
Ribbon (3)
The ribbon in the “Marking settings” screen contains tools to execute file handling, create or
edit marking data and control the laser marking system. Tools displayed in the ribbon vary
depending on the screen you selected. You can do the following with the tools:
• Open files for editing.
• Save files.
• Undo or redo an operation.
• Create marking objects (“Character”, “TrueType”, “Graphic”, “Shapes”, “Bar code”, “2D
code”, “Point radiation”).
• Add an object group to organize marking objects.
• Align and distribute marking objects.
• Modify character objects (e.g. increase or reduce line spacing).
• Copy, paste, cut or delete a marking object.
• Perform the test marking and guide laser operation with the “Test marking” and “Guide
laser” tools.
• Establish an online connection or go offline. The icon of the “Connection” tool indicates
the connection status of the laser marking system.
• Use the “Operation” tool to switch the laser marking system operation to remote or RUN
mode.
