27 Troubleshooting
I/O control fails
Cause:
The settings in the “System settings” are incorrect.
Remedy:
• Make sure that the control method is set to “I/O” in “System
settings” > “Operation/information”.
• Check the I/O settings in “System settings” > “Inputs/outputs”.
• For EtherNet/IP or PROFINET connections, check the settings
for “Control method of input signals” in “System settings” >
“Communication”.
If you have changed any of the above settings, restart the laser marking
system.
Command control fails
Cause:
Communication commands are not received from the external device.
Remedy:
• Check the commands in “Maintenance” > “Command history”.
• Use a commercially available line monitor or protocol analyzer to
check if the external device sends data.
Cause:
The start code is incorrect.
Remedy:
• Check if the setting for “Start code” specified in the “System settings”
matches the start code in the data from the external device.
• If you use EtherNet/IP or PROFINET, make sure that the command
data do not contain the start code.
Cause:
The end code is incorrect.
Remedy:
• For RS232C and Ethernet connections, make sure the data from the
external device contain an end code.
• For RS232C connections, check if the setting for “End code” specified
in the “System settings” matches the end code in the data from the
external device.
• If you use EtherNet/IP or PROFINET, make sure that the command
data do not contain the end code.
