If
status sri -gps
returns no data or most
fi
elds are set to ’unknown’, the internal GPS chip is most likely
not operational and requires a reset. Reset the GPS chip by using the command
reset gps
.
Check GPS status by using the command
status sri -t
as shown below.

eld displays open or short circuit, check the integrity
of the antenna cabling or replace the antenna.

: Positional Dilution of Precision – it is a measure of geometrical strength of
GPS satellite con
fi
guration. If lower value – accuracy is better.
GPS antenna must be connected before the site is powered up for
this status to be returned correctly.
•
If the site is being powered up in a new location for the
fi
rst time, the Almanac Data and
the Location data
fi
elds should display a status of Invalid. Use the
site_location -reset
and
invalidate gps nvram
commands to ensure that the Almanac and Location data are cleared.
The Site Controller must then be reset for these commands to take effect.
•
Check Antenna, cabling and surge arrestors.
