Practical advice
Where will I find...?
i
Have the fire extinguisher refilled after each
use and checked every one or two years. Other-
wise, it may fail in an emergency. Observe the le-
gal requirements in all countries concerned.
!
Make sure that the stowage compartment is
closed while the vehicle is in motion.
The fire extinguisher is located in the stow-
age compartment under the driver’s seat.

The vehicle tool kit is under the inner floor
in the boot.
i
When using the jack, you should also ob-
serve the safety notes in the "Flat tyre" section
( page 483).
Lift up the front part of the inner floor
and hook the retainer into the top of
the boot frame.
Remove the vehicle tool kit and the ac-
cessories.
!
It is not possible to hook the boot floor onto
the boot frame in vehicles with a TIREFIT kit or a
coolbox*.
!
Do not close the boot lid if the retainer is
hooked into the boot frame.

Risk of injury
If your vehicle has been raised and is being
held only by the jack and you are working
next to or underneath the vehicle, there is a
risk of the jack tipping over and the vehicle
slipping off. The vehicle sliding off the jack
could cause serious injuries.
For safety reasons, put the vehicle on
stands if you intend to work under it or if you
intend to keep it raised for a long time. The
jack is designed only to raise the vehicle for
a short while when a wheel is changed.
Only use the jack on solid and even ground.
Secure the vehicle’s wheels with chocks so
that it cannot move or slip off the jack. Oth-
erwise, you could be injured.
