Parking brake
inoperative
When you apply or release the electric
parking brake, the red indicator lamp
for the electric parking brake flashes
and goes out after approximately
10 seconds. The yellow warning lamp
for the electric parking brake is lit.
The electric parking brake has malfunc-
tioned.
Switch the ignition off and on again and ap-
ply the electric parking brake.
If the electric parking brake cannot be applied:
Move the automatic transmission to posi-
tion P .
Secure the vehicle against rolling away us-
ing the folding wheel chock ( page 402)
from the tool kit.
Visit a qualified specialist workshop.

switched on.
Key:
Turn the key to position 1 in the ignition
lock.
KEYLESS GO*:
Switch on the ignition.
