G
Risk of accident
Only adjust the driver’s seat when the vehi-
cle is stationary. You will otherwise be dis-
tracted from the road and traffic conditions
and you could lose control of the vehicle as
a result of the seat moving. You could there-
fore cause an accident
G
Risk of injury
Make sure that nobody can become trapped
as you adjust the seat. Observe the notes on
the airbag system ( page 31). Secure chil-
dren as recommended ( page 37).
G
Risk of injury
The seats can be adjusted when the key is
removed and the door is open. For this rea-
son, children should never be left unsuper-
vised in the vehicle. They could be trapped
by a seat adjustment movement.
G
Risk of injury
Your seat must be adjusted in such a way
that allows you to wear your seat belt prop-
erly ( page 244).
Observe the following points:
Position the backrest as close to the ver-
tical as possible.
Your arms must be slightly bent when
holding the steering wheel.
Maintain a distance from the pedals that
allows you to depress these fully.
The head restraint should support the
back of your head at about eye level.
If you do not follow these instructions,
this may lead to injuries.
G
Risk of injury
A seat belt only offers its intended degree of
protection if the backrest is positioned as
close to the vertical as possible and the oc-
cupant is sitting upright. Avoid seat posi-
tions that do not allow the seat belt to be
routed correctly ( page 231). Position the
backrest as close to the vertical as possible.
