System Fails to Boot From the Hard Drive
If the system fails to boot from the hard drive, check the following items.
• Has the hard drive been formatted?
• Does the LED flash when attempting to read from or write to the hard disk
drive?
• Is the hard drive type number configured properly in the “BIOS Setup”
utility?
• If you have an IDE hard drive, is the IDE controller enabled through the
“BIOS Setup” utility?
• If you have a SCSI disk drive, is the SCSI controller enabled through the
“Setup Configuration Utility?”
• Is the keyboard connector firmly attached to the system?
Add-In Card Fails to Work Properly
If an add-in card(s) fails to work properly after installation, check the
following items.
• Is the add-in card(s) properly installed and seated in it’s socket?
• Are the jumpers on the card(s) properly configured? Refer to the
manufacturer’s documentation.
• Does the add-in card(s) conflict with memory interrupts, I/O addresses of
any other add-in cards or any system components?
• Most conflicts can be isolated by removing the add-in cards one at a time.
Turn the power “Off” and remove an add-in card. Then turn the system
back “On” to see if the problem was eliminated. Repeat the procedure, as
needed, for additional add-in cards.
