
Optional PCMCIA Cards
The FlexPAC can be fitted with an optional PCMCIA/CardBus socket for
added expansion. The PCMCIA/CardBus socket accepts either two type II or
one type III PC cards. Since both type II slots are co-located in the same
opening, one type III PC card can be inserted instead of two type II PC cards.
The type III PC card occupies both slots. The FlexPAC supports “hot
insertion.” You can insert the PC card into the socket while the system is
powered “On.” The PCMCIA/CardBus socket is located on the front side, in
the lower left hand corner, next to the CD-ROM (see Figure 5.8).
1. With the insert marking facing upwards, slide the PC card firmly into the
socket until it is in place.
2. To remove the upper PC card: Press the upper eject button.
To remove the lower PC card: Press the lower eject button.
