Description
Input/Output / Dig.Out 41 / 42
Mode
Used to select the operating mode for the digital output 41 / 42.
• Off: Used to deactivate the digital output 41 / 42.
• Logic: Digital output 41 / 42 is used as binary output (e. g. as alarm output).
• Pulse: Digital output 41 / 42 is used as pulse output. In pulse mode, pulses per unit are output (e. g. 1 pulse per m3).
• Frequency: Digital output 41 / 42 is used as frequency output. In frequency mode, a frequency proportional to the flow rate
is output. The maximum frequency can be configured according to the full-scale value.
Default setting: Pulse.
Outp. Flow Direction
Used to select the flow direction, in which the pulse output / frequency output outputs the selected process value.
This parameter is only available if the digital output has been configured as a pulse output or a frequency output.
• Forward & Reverse: Used to have pulses output for both flow directions via the digital output 41 / 42.
• Forward: Used to have only pulses in upstream direction output (flow in direction of arrow) via the digital output 41 / 42.
• Reverse: Used to have only pulses in downstream direction output (flow opposite to direction of arrow) via the digital
output 41 / 42.
Default setting: Forward & Reverse.

Output Value Pulse
Used to select the process variable that is output via the pulse output.
• Off: Used to deactivate the pulse output.
• Pulse Mass Flow: Used to have pulses output for the mass flow.
• Pulse Volume Flow: Used to have pulses output for the volumetric flow.
Pulses per Unit
Used to set the pulses per volumetric unit or per mass unit and the pulse width for the “Pulse” operating mode of the digital
outputs. The pulse factor and pulse width are interdependent and are calculated dynamically (pulses per unit: 1 to 10000/s;
pulse width: 0.1 to 2000 mS).
Available only if a digital output has been configured as a pulse output and if volumetric flow or mass flow was selected as the
process variable to be output.

Output Value Freq.
Used to select the process variable that is output via the frequency output.
• Off: Used to deactivate the frequency output.
• Pulse Mass Flow: Used to have the frequency output output pulses for the mass flow.
• Pulse Volume Flow: Used to have the frequency output output pulses for the volumetric flow.
Upper Frequency
Used to set the frequency for the full-scale value. The entered value (0 to 10500 Hz) corresponds to 100 % flow.
