RAID Requirements for Microsoft Windows 2000
Note:
This document, when referring to Windows 2000, unless otherwise stated applies to the following:

2000 Professional
•
2000 Advanced Server
•
2000 Server
When installing the RAID Controller for Windows 2000, note the following system requirements.
Have all required system hardware and software components available before proceeding with the
setup and installation.
RAID Hardware Requirements
•
Server with CD-ROM Drive not attached to the GSU31
•
One available PCI slot (adapter card installation only)
•
Monitor display resolution of 800 x 600 or higher
•
GSU31 adapter card
•
PCI 2.2 Compliant BIOS
RAID Software Requirements
•
GSU31 CD-ROM
•
Hard Disk Space: 9 MB Minimum
•
GSU31 Windows 2000 Installation Driver Diskette. See
Chapter 3, “Exploring the Utilities”
to
create this diskette.

Warning:
Do not install OSMs (Operating System Service Modules) downloaded from the OS vendor
website. An OSM is the operating system driver portion of the I
2
O split driver rmodel. The OSMs
provided on the GSU31 CD-ROM are a later version than the OSMs currently provided by the OS
vendor. Using OSMs other than those provided on the GSU31 CD-ROM may yield unpredictable
results.
