4. Reconnect the signal and power cables to the hard disk drive in the tray.
5. Install the side cover (see “Installing the side cover” on page 76).
6. Reconnect the external cables and power cords; then, turn on the attached
devices and turn on the computer.
Removing a mini-PCI adapter
Note: This section describes the removal of a mini-PCI adapter from the mini-PCI
connector on the system board. See “Removing an adapter” on page 85 for
information about removing an adapter from PCI slots 1 through 4 on the system
board.
To remove a mini-PCI adapter, complete the following steps:
1. Read the safety information that begins on page vii and “Installation guidelines”
on page 73.
2. Turn off the computer and all attached devices; then, disconnect all external
cables and power cords.
3. Remove the side cover (see “Removing the side cover” on page 75).
4. Remove the hard disk drive bracket, if one is installed (see “Removing the
hard disk drive bracket” on page 95).
5. Remove any long adapters that might impede access to the mini-PCI adapter.
6. Disconnect the signal cable from the mini-PCI adapter.
7. Gently pull up on the connector end of the mini-PCI adapter until it disengages
from the plastic standoffs. If the standoffs come away from the system board
with the SCSI card, gently pull them out of the SCSI card and push them back
into their apertures on the system board (see Figure 39).
