You
can
install
a
Tier
2
CRU
yourself
or
request
IBM
to
install
it,
at
no
additional
charge,
under
the
type
of
warranty
service
that
is
designated
for
your
computer.
The
illustrations
in
this
document
might
differ
slightly
from
your
hardware.
Removing
the
hard
disk
drive
bracket
The
hard
disk
drive
bracket
is
installed
on
some
models
to
provide
a
drive
bay
(bay
5)
for
an
additional
hard
disk
drive.
When
working
with
some
devices,
such
as
hard
disk
drives,
adapters,
and
memory
modules,
you
must
first
remove
the
hard
disk
drive
bracket
to
access
the
device.
To
remove
the
hard
disk
drive
bracket,
complete
the
following
steps:
1.
Read
the
safety
information
that
begins
on
page
and
2.
Turn
off
the
computer
and
all
attached
devices;
then,
disconnect
all
external
cables
and
power
cords.
3.
Remove
the
side
cover
4.
Disconnect
the
signal
and
power
cables
from
the
hard
disk
drive
that
is
installed
in
the
tray.

the
hard
disk
drive
from
the
tray,
see
5.
Remove
the
two
screws
that
fasten
the
top
edge
of
the
hard
disk
drive
bracket
to
the
chassis
(see
Chapter
4.
