Remove or Relocate a Stand-Alone or Drive-Only Model

When removing nut clips, bolts, and screws, put them into the containers provided. Mark the containers
with the correct part number.

1. Ensure all the cables are disconnected.

2. Move the device to the new location.

OR

3. If you are not reinstalling the 3570, place it in the shipping box. See “Repack Instructions for the

3570.”

Repack Instructions for the 3570

Before repacking the 3570, verify that there is no tape cartridge inserted in the 3570. For the library, verify
there are no tape cartridges loaded in the magazine. If there are cartridges present, remove them.

To protect the tape drive loader mechanism during shipping, the loader should be moved manually to the
loaded position. Before shipping the 3570, perform the steps under “Manual Load Procedure” on
page PROC-25, but do not insert a cartridge when you are told to do so.

Remove the magazines from the library and slide the picker assembly all the way to the left. Refer to
Figure 227 on page INST-43 and install the shipping stopper, item
