2. Position the shipping container that contains the 3570 in front of the rack.

|

3. Position the rack and locate the physical area in the rack where the 3570 is to be installed.

|

Note:  Because of the weight of the 3570, it is recommended that the 3570 be installed in the

|

rack as low as possible.

|

The 3570 requires six EIA units. Each EIA unit consists of three holes in the rack. The supporting

|

slides must be installed level in the rack. Figure 204 on page INST-15 shows the location of the

|

holes used.

|

EIA unit number 32 (top of rack) only has two holes, all other EIA units have three holes. EIA unit

|

numbers are shown in the rear of the rack.

|

4. Ensure that the rack stabilizer is installed. See

Installing Supporting Slides and Tray in Rack

|

When installing the library models in a rack, six EIA rack units must be available.

|

1. Determine which rack location the 3570 will be installed in. Count and mark the six EIA units on

|

the left and right sides of the front and rear of the rack.

|

2. See Figure 213 on page INST-26. Install the two nut-plates

, using four screws

Notes:

a. Ensure that the slide extends toward the front of the rack.

b. If it is necessary to adjust the length of the slide mounting brackets to fit the rack, do not

bracket.
