Rack-Mounted Models (Models B11 and B12) Without Tray

|

When you are installing a Model B11 or Model B12 (rack-mounted unit) in a 9309 rack, you are instructed

|

to locate components by EIA rack unit and hole location. All hole locations are specified within contiguous

|

EIA rack units.

|

1. Figure 220 on page INST-32 lists the parts necessary for the rack mount installation. Ensure that

|

you have the necessary hardware to begin the installation.

|

2. Position the shipping container that contains the 3570 in front of the rack.

|

3. Position the rack and locate the physical area in the rack where the 3570 is to be installed.

|

Note:  Because of the weight of the 3570, it is recommended that the 3570 be installed in the

|

rack as low as possible.

|

The 3570 requires six EIA units. Each EIA unit consists of three holes in the rack. The supporting

|

slides must be installed level in the rack. Figure 204 on page INST-15 shows the location of the

|

holes used.

|

EIA unit number 32 (top of rack) only has two holes, all other EIA units have three holes. EIA unit

|

numbers are shown in the rear of the rack.

|
