Printing and Plotting Measurement Results
Printing and Plotting Measurement
Results
To print or plot measurement results, perform the following steps:
1. Select the appropriate copy port:
• Printer or
• Plotter or
• File
2. Define the output
3. Generate the output:
• Hardcopy or
• Plot to file
To Select the Copy Port
Press
. Use the front panel knob or
the
keys to move the highlighted bar to the appropriate
device type/language/hardcopy port. If you select a printer or plotter,
refer to
“Connect the Printer or Plotter” on page 4-70
. When you select a
file, you must select whether to store it on the analyzer's non-volatile
RAM disk or a 3.5” floppy disk in the built-in disk drive. Also, you must
select either an HP-GL, PCL5, or PCX file format. All of these formats
can be imported to many personal computer (PC) applications such as
word processors and drawing programs. This allows a simple method for
screen dumps to be used in reports, memos, or other communications. In
addition, with the LAN feature, you can use FTP to directly get a
hardcopy file in either HP-GL, GIF, or PCX format. See The LAN
Interface User’s Guide Supplement for information.
NOTE
If you are sending hardcopy to an external device (printer or plotter), you
should have already configured the analyzer for use with the printer or
plotter. See the previous section,
“Connect the Printer or Plotter”
for
more information.
