The FMS is designed to keep the aircraft within protected airspace
during procedure turns. When the aircraft approaches the procedure
turn at a ground speed resulting in the aircraft exceeding protected
airspace, the scratchpad message HIGH PCDR TURN GRD SPD (high
procedure turn ground speed) is displayed 1 minute before the aircraft
crosses the fix.
When this message is displayed, the ground speed must be reduced
and the aircraft position, relative to the procedure turn, must be
monitored. When the high ground speed is maintained, the aircraft can
overshoot the turn inbound and possibly exceed protected airspace.
