The SQUARE SEARCH page, shown in Figure 6--118, is
displayed by pushing the SQUARE prompt (1L).

Select ACTIVATE (6R).
The following line select keys correspond to the associated definitions
on the SQUARE SEARCH page, shown in Figure 6--118.

-- The START POS (starting point) for the search pattern is
displayed at 1L. The starting point is the flight plan waypoint selected
by the pilot prior to accessing the SQUARE SEARCH page.
Otherwise, the starting point is the PPOS when *SEARCH* is placed
on the FROM waypoint in the active flight plan. The starting position
is modifiable on the SQUARE SEARCH page.
All valid starting point waypoints are allowed except PBPB and PD
temporary waypoints. An INVALID ENTRY message is displayed in
the scratchpad when a PBPB or PD temporary waypoint is entered
at 1L.

-- The TURN DIR (turn direction) taken at the first search pattern
waypoint after the start position while flying the search pattern is
defined at 2L. The active turn direction is displayed in large green
font and the inactive turn direction is displayed in small white font.
