Step 11. Press the down arrow

until the cursor is next to the PRIME
TIME sub-menu.
NOTE:
When you enter a value, for example 15 seconds, the display reads 015. When you
press the down arrow, the display changes to read 15.
Enter the PRIME
TIME Value
Step 1. The Default setting is 5 seconds.
Step 2. The Prime Time value can be a number between 1-999.
Step 3. All values are in seconds.
Step 4. Prime Time is the time it takes for the feeder to prime the
feeding system and for the feeding system to smoothly feed
product at an OP% selected rate.
Step 5. Press the Clear button to clear the Prime Time value.
Step 6. Use the numeric keys to enter the new Prime Time value.
Step 7. Press the Enter button to accept the new value.
Step 8. Press the down arrow
↓
until the cursor is next to the FEED
TIME sub-menu.
Enter the FEED
TIME Value
Step 1. The minimum time that can be entered is 30 seconds.
Step 2. The default setting is 30 seconds.
Step 3. The Feed Time value can be a number between 30-999.
Step 4. All values are in seconds.
Step 5. Press the Clear button to clear the Feed Time value.
Step 6. Use the numeric keys to enter the new Feed time value.
Step 7. Press the Enter button to accept the new value.
NOTE:
Make sure there is enough material for the feeder to dispense during this time period.
AUTO RATE
CALIBRATION
From the Front
Panel
Step 1. Press the down arrow
↓
until the cursor is next to the AUTO
RATE CAL sub-menu.
Step 2. The Default setting is NO which appears on the display.
Step 3. Press the Select button to select YES.
Step 4. Press the Enter button.
Step 5. A message appears that says: **RUNNING RATE CAL**.
Step 6. To view the process, press the Exit button two times to get to
the Operational Display #1.
NOTE:
The Auto Rate Cal will prime the system and then run for the selected feed time at
20%, pause for the selected pause time, then continue for feed rates at 30%, 40%,
50% and 80% with the selected pause times in between.

Using a Serial
Command
Step 1. Enter the Pause Time, Prime Time, and Feed Time parameters
from the front panel of the HI 2160RC
PLU
Rate Controller.
Step 2. Enter the Serial Command: S RCS (Initiate auto rate cal)
Step 3. Press the Enter button.
The Instrument
Does the Following
1. When the Auto Cal Rate starts it Sets the low rate percentage values
to 10% and the high rate percentage values to 90%.
2. To determine if an automatic rate calibration is in progress you can
look at these values in:
