Result 2. If the Current Count is zero, the input from the load cell may
be negative. Go onto to Step Four.
Step 3. Check to see if the load cell wiring is correct. Check to see
that the load cell wiring is not loose or that the connector at
the rear panel is not loose.
NOTE:
When checking multiple load cells, disconnect all the load cell signal outputs from the
summing box and check them one at a time.
•
If the wiring is not correct for the application make the
correction.
•
If there is a loose connection, make sure the connector is
plugged in correctly or replace the connector.
Step 4. Use a volt meter and check the voltage bSIG and -
SIG on the load cell connector. (See Fig. 8-4)
Result 1. If the volt meter reads between 0 and +30mVDC the load cell
voltage is in range go onto Step Six.
Result 2. If the volt meter does not read between 0 and +30mVDC the
problem is external to the HI 2160RC

. Check the load
cells and cables. Check your load cell manual for trouble-
shooting information.
Step 5. With the volt meter probes in place, add or subtract weight
from the feeder. The volt reading should go up if you add
weight or down if you subtract weight.
