To enable advertisement of speed, duplex mode, and flow control on a Gigabit Ethernet interface, use
the
negotiation
command in interface configuration mode. To disable automatic negotiation, use the
no
negotiation auto
command.

Usage Guidelines
The
negotiation auto
command is used instead of the
duplex
and
speed
commands (which are used on
Ethernet to automatically configure the duplex and speed settings of the interfaces.
The
no negotiation auto
command is used to disable the autonegotiation. If the speed is set to 1000
Mbps and full-duplex is set for the Gigabit Ethernet interface in small form-factor pluggable (SFP)
mode, then the autonegotiation is disabled (forced mode) using the
no negotiation auto
command.
