Removing and Installing the Front and Rear Chain Tensioners (Quick Adjust)

1. Perform the servicing procedure,

Drive Chain Removal

on page WA-7

Front Chain Tensioners

2. Remove the 2 jam nuts located at the bottom of the threaded tension rod on the front 4

chain tensioners and slide the assembly up and out of the guide.

Rear Chain Tensioners

3. The rear four tensioners have no jam nuts on the lower part of the tensioner rod. All that

is required is to raise the assembly up and free of the tensioner guides.

Installing the Chain Tensioners (Quick Adjust)

Assemble the front & rear chain tensioners as in

Photo WA-11 and WA-12

When setting the 2 jam nuts against each other, use green LOCTITE 680 on the threaded

portion of the tensioner rod where the locknuts come to rest. The use of purple LOCTITE

222MS is also applied to the internal threads of the chain adjuster spindle.
