Installation on horizontal pipe
CAUTION
Improper installation may result in leakage or damage to the pipe flanges.
Required accessories
The following parts are required:
Through-bolts and nuts
Centering guide bushing
Gaskets: The required gasket material will vary according to the material of the pipe on
which the detector is to be installed. See the installation procedures for different
pipe materials described on pages 2-17 to 2-22.
Procedure
Follow this procedure to install the detector on a horizontal pipe.

Insert through-bolts in the flange holes
shown by black dots in the drawing. Slip two
centering nuts onto each through-bolt before
inserting the bolts.

Turn the detector so that the direction
mark on the detector matches the
direction of fluid flow.
Insert the detector and gaskets between the
pipe flanges.
Position the detector so that it sits on top
of the centering.

Make sure that the detector remains
properly centered.
Make sure that the gaskets do not protrude
beyond the edges of the pipe flanges.
When you have checked these items, insert
the remaining through-bolts into the
flange holes and tighten the bolts evenly
using the appropriate fastening torque
given on page 2-14.
