Creating Import Maps
Before you can import data into MasterDirectory, you must create an import map. The import map
determines:
•
the type of source file you are importing data from (that is, PhoneLine, Text Delimited, Text Fixed
Record Length, dBASE, Microsoft Access, SQL Server file, LDAP, ODBC, an ACP server via a DCP
connection, or an ACP server via an IP connection)
•
the name of the source file
•
the number of fields in the source file
•
the fields you want to import from the source file
•
the mapping of the fields in the source file to the fields in the directory
•
the type of import you want to perform (for example, import all of the data or only import data that has
changed)
You can create the import maps for the following types of source files:
•
PhoneLine
•
Text Delimited
•
Text Fixed Record Length
•
dBASE
•
Microsoft Access
•
SQL Server
•
LDAP
•
ODBC
•
ACP server via a DCP connection
•
ACP server via an IP connection
