18. If you selected one of the following Import Mode options, you must specify the Key field in the Key
Field box:
•
AppendNew
•
Update
•
AppendUpdate
•
Delete
•
Synchronize
•
Compare
The Key field is a field that you have already set as an index in MasterDirectory. (Refer to "Creating
Indexes" in Chapter 3.) MasterDirectory uses this field to match records from the imported source
file(s) to records in the current directory. The Key Field box contains all index fields that were mapped.
NOTE:
Index fields that were not mapped will not appear in the Key Field box.
19. Choose the
Advanced
button.
The Advanced Settings For Import dialog box appears.
The Advanced Settings For Import dialog box enables you to customize the import procedures. Using
this dialog box, you can perform the following procedures when the data is imported:
•
replace prefixes
•
ignore entries that match a certain criteria in a specified field
•
change the format of the data in the field that contains the name (that is, first name, last name
and/or middle name). If this field contains the first name and last name or first name, last name,
and middle name, you can change the order of this information in that field.
•
populate blank fields
