Responding to Problems
If a trouble occurs that you suspect it is a problem, stop using the machine and take an
appropriate action by referring to <Troubleshooting Table> below. If a problem is not
speci
fi ed in <Troubleshooting Table> or the problem cannot be improved after the spec-
i fi ed action has been taken, contact the “dealer from which you purchased your Ride-on
Bush Cutter”.
Some actions require expert knowledge of maintenance. If you
fi nd the contents of
maintenance is difficult, ask the “dealer from which you purchased your Ride-on Bush
Cutter” to do it for you.
Location Troubles Presumable cause Action
Engine
The engine does
not start.
The cutting-height adjustment lever is not in
the “Start Engine” position. (The safety device
is actuated.)
Put the lever in the “Start Engine” position.

The brake pedal is not depressed. (The safety
device is actuated.)
Depress the brake pedal. (Refer to p. 30 and
31.)
The battery was
over-discharged.
Charge the battery. (Refer to p. 82.)
Replace the battery.
The battery cables are disconnected. Connect the battery cables.
Blown fuse Replace the fuse. (Refer to p. 90.)
Poorly-contacting or disconnected
electrical wiring (connector).
Repair the electrical wiring (connector)

The engine does
not start smoothly.
Lack of fuel Add fuel. (Refer to p. 29.)
Air or water was mixed into fuel. Inspect the pipes and tightening bands.
Too much fuel is suctioned in. Wait for a while and try starting again.
Lack of engine oil or use of
low-grade engine oil (oil with
high viscosity).
Add or replace engine oil. (Refer to p. 53 to
55.)
Ignition failure due to a foul ignition plug or
insuf fi cient sparks.
Clean or replace the ignition plug. (Refer to
p. 62.)
Lack of battery capacity (cell
motor starting failure).
Add battery fl uid. (Refer to p. 81.)
Charge the battery. (Refer to p. 82.)
Contamination is mixed into the fuel
system.
Clean the fuel fi lter pot. (Refer to p. 63.)
The engine stalls
frequently.
Lack of fuel Add fuel. (Refer to p. 29.)
The engine
suddenly stopped.
