25.4 Motor and Drive Components

Gain access to the b lo w er and motor b y remo v ing the b elt g u ard or w eather-
proof co v er. First, release tension on the b elts b y adj u sting the motor b ase
closer to the b lo w er p u lley. Remo v e the b elts.
To remo v e the motor p u lley, first loosen the adj u stment set scre w s and co u nt
the n u m b er of t u rns to f u lly close the p u lley (this n u m b er w ill b e req u ired to
reinstall the p u lleys to the pre v io u s adj u stment). Open the adj u sta b le shea v es
to gain access to the shaft set scre w s. Loosen the set scre w (s) that hold it to
the motor shaft and p u ll a w ay from the motor.
To remo v e the b lo w er p u lley, remo v e the b olts from the bu shing and insert into
the pre v io u sly u n u sed threaded holes of the bu shing. Caref u lly press the
b lo w er p u lley off the bu shing, tightening the b olts e v enly. Loosen the Allen
Head setscre w (located on top of the key w ay) and slide the p u lley bu shing off
the shaft.
To remo v e the motor, first remo v e any g u ards and/or co v ers aro u nd motor and
then remo v e motor p u lley as descri b ed a b o v e. Disconnect the motor po w er
w iring and cond u it at the j u nction b ox in the side of the motor. S u pport the
motor so that it w ill b e sec u re w hen disconnected from the adj u sta b le b ase.
Remo v e the b olts that hold the motor to the adj u sta b le b ase. The motor may
no w b e remo v ed.
