5-18                                    Courier User Handbook

5.8.2.  Using the Limiter

The digital (DSP) limiter is used to hold the level of recordings to a preset level,
such as +4dB or +8dB. It can be used in situations where you do not want to distort
the recording by having too high a level, for example, if you are recording where
there are likely to be loud explosions, or sharp, high intensity noise. By switching
the LIMITER L & R to ON, the machine will automatically limit any signals to the
level that you have defined.

Note: Built in to the Courier is an analogue fixed limiter to stop the unit
overloading the A/D converters, to prevent digital clipping.

5.8.2.1.  Setting the Limiter level

The level of the DSP limiter is set in the Courier software. In the 

Cut-List Mode
