12.4. Using an ISDN line to transfer audio

The Courier can act either as an ISDN modem, sending data down the ISDN line,
or as an ISDN codec allowing the user to carry out a live report using the analogue
inputs or playback from the PCMCIA disk.

For this feature to work you will either need a Courier with the built in ISDN
interface or a standard Courier with an external  ISDN codec.

12.4.1.  Setting up the internal ISDN modem

From the

The options here are covered in detail the next few sections. Only the [ISDN
Select], [ISDN Upgrade Code] and [ISDN Live] are relevant for ISDN transfer of
data.

12.4.1.1.  ISDN communications type

You will need to configure the ISDN communications type depending upon which
country that you are dialling from. Different countries have different standards and
protocols for their ISDN communication networks so it is important that you get
this correct.

Choose [ISDN Select] to show a list of options for the different countries available.
Initially, there are three selections of [ISDN Not Fitted], [ISDN S-Bus] and [ISDN
U-Bus]. If either of the second two selections are chosen, the list expands to
provide greater detail.
