Chapter 12 – connectivity

Courier User Handbook

For Windows 98 there is a setup information file on the win98 directory that loads
and links to the device drivers supplied on the floppy disk.

During the initialisation dialog Windows will ask for the location of the device
drivers. Tick the specify location checkbox and type in the correct path i.e.
a:/win98 for Windows98 or a:/win2000 for Windows 2000.

To enter the USB Connect mode press the MENU button and select [Connectivity],
[USB Connect].

        

        

The screen will show the connect Status and the flow of commands via the USB
connection. The LEDs will show the USB activity : the top LED is used to show
transmit and the lower for receive.

When performing file transfers to the Courier it is important to ensure that the transfer
is properly completed as Windows Explorer will use caching techniques and will
appear to complete before all the data has been transferred. Check that the Status line
has changed from ‘Write to Disk’ to ‘Connected’.

When all file transfers have been completed, press the menu or enter buttons to
return to the main screen and the cut list will be re-initialised.

Note : When using Courier with USB ensure that the USB cable is connected
to the PC first before connecting to the Courier.  Connecting the Courier first
could cause the machine to reset.
