Marking quality
Troubles Causes Measures
Marking is totally faded/
Marking is partially
faded.
Laser emission port is not clean.
• Clean contaminants off the laser emission
port by following the procedures described in
“Setup/Maintenance Guide”.
• For LP-RF/LP-RV/LP-ZV series:
If contaminants persist, replace the protection
glass of the laser emission port.
Fumes occurring during lasing hinder
laser beam.
• Install dust collector.
• Check that dust collector works well.
Distance to the workpiece is not
appropriate.
• Adjust distance between bottom surface of
laser marker head and marking surface of the
workpiece.
• Due to the characteristics of the laser marker,
the focus (work distance) and marking state
may vary depending on the temperature
environment or operating conditions. For
details, refer to the “Marking check” in the
“Setup/Maintenance Guide”.
For LP-GS/LP-ZV series:
The set Z-position does not match the
height of the actual target workpiece.
(The LP-GSxxx-L type is excluded.)
Set the Z-position according to the workpiece
height.
For LP-ZV series, when you use the
autofocus function:
The workpiece displacement does not
match the actual distance.
• Check if the input values of “Workpiece
displacement at 4mA [mm]” and “Workpiece
displacement at 20mA [mm]” in the system
settings screen are correct.
• Check if the trigger of the displacement sensor
is input after the measurement result is stable.
• Check if the detecting position of the
workpiece surface and the marking surface
are consistent.
• Confirm the installation status and if the
displacement sensor is receiving the impact
of vibration or the like, perform vibration
prevention measures.
• Check the output signal of the displacement
sensor and if it is affected by noise, protect the
sensor against noises.
For LP-ZV series:
The setting of the uniform spot mode is
not suitable.
Specify the setting of the uniform spot mode if
necessary. If you change this setting, marking
quality may change. Adjust the laser power
according to the selected uniform spot mode.
Marking surface of workpiece is
inclined.
Make adjustment so that bottom surface of
laser marker head and marking surface of the
workpiece are parallel with each other.
