Description of the function:
- The function is used to generate a curve from a table of x
abscissa points which has a corresponding table of f(x) ordinate
points.
- The points in the table can be in any order.
- Between two consecutive abscissa points, the f(x) ordinate
points are interpolated linearly.
- If the abscissa defined by the source parameter is less than
the smallest abscissa point value of parameters
