E-50 SETTING OF COORDINATE SYSTEM
*2
Make sure that the presetter arm is securely installed to the machine before
pressing the presetter mode switch
.
*3
Use the manual pulse generator with the
(
1) or
(
10) switch pressed near
the stylus to bring the tool into contact with the stylus. The stylus will be damaged if
the tool is hit against the stylus.
*4
The tool geometry offset data is set in the direction of the axis which was moved
immediately before the sensor is turned on. Never move axes until the sensor is
turned on after moving a tool tip onto the contact face of the stylus.
If an axis is moved after the tool tip is brought onto the contact face of the stylus but
before the sensor is turned on, the offset data is entered to an unexpected direction.
If automatic operation is started under such status, an interference will occur
between the tool, tool holder and turret head, and the workpiece, chuck, and fixture,
causing damage to the machine.
*5
An axis can be moved in directions in addition to the tool retracting direction since
the tool tip is not brought into contact with the stylus or sensor contact. Therefore,
pay attention to the direction the tool is going to be moved. If the tool is moved in a
wrong direction, the tool will be hit against the stylus or sensor contact causing
damages to the machine.
*6
Do not move the tool in the Z-axis direction after cutting the workpiece end face. If
moved, it could cause the tool to interfere with the workpiece, damaging the tool and
machine.
*7
Make sure to set "0" for "COMMON Z1" on the WORK OFFSET screen.
If the work coordinate system shift data is set for "COMMON Z1", the work
coordinate system is shifted in the same direction disregarding of the spindle
(spindle 1 and spindle 2) to be used, which causes the turret to interfere with the
workpiece resulting in machine damage.
*
If more than one tool geometry offset amount should be set for a single tool, move
the cursor to the second or other such tool's data setting area using the cursor
control key and directly key in the offset data. In this case, it is necessary to change
the setting for NC parameter QNI beforehand.
However if the setting for NC parameter QNI is changed, it is necessary to move the
cursor to the tool number for which the offset data should be set each time the tool
is indexed.
**
Always press the
[(+) INPUT]
soft-key after inputting a value.
If the
(INPUT) key is pressed instead of the
[(+) INPUT]
soft-key by mistake,
the input value is recognized as the tool geometry offset data or the work shift data.
***
Press the
(INPUT) key after inputting a value.
****
If the tool fails to touch the stylus even if it has moved 5 mm, PC alarm message
"EX 4917 TOOL DOESN'T TOUCH ON THE SENSOR" is displayed. In this case,
clear the alarm state by pressing the
(RESET) key, press the presetter mode
switch
and perform the operation in the presetter measurement sub mode.
