Next, tap ‘Record Sample’ followed by tapping ‘Start Recording’. This begins recording from the main L/R track.
Once tapped, the ‘Start Recording’ button turns to ‘Stop Recording’, the record time is displayed and the universal
image for recording – the red circle
•
– also appear.
Once the sample has been recorded, it is time to tap ‘Stop Recording’. This writes the file to disk and assigns
it to the assigned pad. Additionally, this will return you to the previous display – the sample settings page – where
the sample pad may be (re)named, a color may be assigned to the pad and the pad’s playback mode chosen.
Now, if ‘Record Sample’ was an accidental tap, simply tap ‘Cancel’ or the ‘X’ in the upper-right corner of the display to return
to the previous view. You can only stop a recording after it has started; it cannot be cancelled.
Load Sample From Disk –
The other choice is to load a sample that was pre-recorded and saved to disk.
Out of the gate, there are really only two things you can do here and that is to either (1) load a sample or (2) exit.
If ‘Load Sample from Disk’ was an accidental tap, simply tap ‘Cancel’ or the ‘X’ in the upper-right corner of the display
to return to the previous view.
Since it was NOT an accidental tap, go ahead and FIRST tap the source of the sample so it is selected and highlighted.
This will either be the usb:\ drive or sd:\ drive. I have placed some samples on a USB drive, so that is what I selected.
