Adjusting universal shaft (for the version without “PreChop”) 7.4

To do this:
ü The drawbar height has been adjusted, refer to page 67 .
„
Use an eligible auxiliary tool in order to support the intermediate bearing during the whole
adjustment process.
„ Remove the screws (2) of the intermediate bearing.
„
Move intermediate bearing (1) in the hole pattern.
„ Mount the screws (2).
Tightening torque, refer to page 262 .
7.4 Adjusting universal shaft (for the version without “PreChop”)
It must be possible to push together the both universal shaft halves in the narrowest position
(cornering with maximum steering angle and simultaneously driving a slope up or down) without
any contact of the both section tube ends. In this process, the displacement path (overlap) must
be at least 220 mm, both in straight-ahead driving and when cornering.

The machine is shut down and safeguarded, refer to page 26 .
„ Pull apart the universal shaft halves.
Inner universal shaft half
„ Unscrew the screws (3) and remove the inner guard tube (4).
„
Widen the inner raceway (2) and remove it.
Outer universal shaft half
„
Screw out the screws of the protective collar (6) and the screws of outer guard tube (5).
„
Remove the outer guard tube (5).
„ Remove the protective collar (6).
„
In order to protect the retaining spring (10) against loss, unhook the retaining spring (10)
and leave it in one of the both boreholes of the slide ring (9).
„
Widen the outer raceway (8) and the slide ring (9) and remove them.
