5. Preoperational checks

5. Preoperational checks

(01E0-0150-1E)

The purpose of preoperational checks is to ensure safe and eﬃcient work.

Before operating the machine, always inspect the machine as described below and record the inspection status by
referring to the "KATO hydraulic excavator preoperational check sheet", included in the "Inspection sheet" of this
manual.

If a malfunction, the need to add ﬂuids, or other problem is discovered during the inspection, refer to the corresponding

sections in the "Inspection and servicing".

・

Set the machine level for the preoperational checks.

・

If you discover any damage, breakdown or malfunction, repair it immediately. Do not leave it

for later and do not start work before it is repaired.

・

For the inspection and replacement methods for the engine, refer to the separate engine

manual.

・

The inspection intervals for this machine are based on standard operations and working

conditions.

Under severe conditions, the inspection and replacement intervals should be shortened

accordingly.

・

If any method or interval of inspection and servicing is unclear, contact your authorised KATO

dealer.
