4. Inspection and servicing of each part

1) Place the starter switch in the "ON" position to make the

electromagnetic fuel pump ready.

2)

Thoroughly loosen the air bleeder plug of the main fuel ﬁlter.

3) If the fuel comes out of the air bleeder plug, tighten the plug

ﬁrmly and wipe oﬀ any spilled fuel from surrounding surfaces.

4) Start up the engine without operating the engine speed. If the

engine does not start at this time, start over the procedure
starting with step 1).

5) After the engine is started, let it run at idle for 5 seconds.
6) Slowly increase the engine speed and hold that condition for 3

minutes.

7) Let the engine run at its maximum speed. Repeat these steps

several times.

8) Check for any fuel leakage.

Make sure there is no fuel leaking around the ﬁlter case. Leaking fuel could cause a ﬁre.

NOTE

The fuel comes out of the air bleeder plug while bleeding the fuel system of air. You can prevent fuel splashing
on parts or other surfaces in the surrounding area if you attach a hose (8 mm of inner diameter) to the air bleeder
plug and use a container for catching spilled fuel. It is easy to check air bubbles with transparent hose.
