4. Inspection and servicing of each part

(5) Replacement procedure

Due to risk of ﬁre, never smoke, use a cigarette lighter, or use any other ignition source while
replacing the fuel pre-ﬁlter.
Always shut oﬀ the engine as well.

Do not replace the fuel pre-ﬁlter immediately after stopping operation. The fuel pre-ﬁlter is hot

enough to cause burns, so perform work after the temperature has been allowed to drop.

・

Be careful not to spill any fuel. If fuel is spilled, thoroughly wipe it up.

・

Do not scratch or otherwise damage the ﬁlter case, which could cause fuel leakage.

・

Do not use a parts cleaner or alcohol-based water remover. If such agents contact plastic parts

(

such as the ﬁlter case

), they can cause cracking that could lead to fuel leakage.

1) Loosen the drain plug and air bleeder plug and discharge fuel

from the inside of the ﬁlter.

Use a receiving pan or the like to receive fuel that is discharged to thereby prevent the engine
from being splashed with it.
