6. Operation

6-8 Phenomena peculiar to the hydraulic excavator

(01E0-0203-1E)

The following phenomena are peculiarities of the hydraulic excavator and are not breakdowns or malfunctions.
(1) The brake valves may make a noise when you start or stop swing

but this is the normal noise of their operation.

(2) The control valves may make a noise when you operate the boom

or arm but this is the normal noise of their operation.

(3) Vibration of the machine body may become strong when you start

the engine or when the engine is near idling speed, but if you raise
the engine speed slightly, this resonant vibration will cease.

(4) When the engine is idling and you operate the arm or bucket lever,

the arm or bucket may move and swing idly.
