10. Handling under special conditions

10-1-2 Precautions after operation

(T218341-031-0E)

(1) Remove mud and water from the body and park the machine on concrete or hard dry ground. This is to avoid

trouble the following day from the travel system such as the track shoes etc. freezing to the ground.

(2) Thoroughly wipe away drops of water or mud from the piston rod surfaces of the hydraulic cylinders. Frozen

water drops can damage the seals.

(3)

Open the drain cock of the fuel tank and drain plug of the fuel ﬁlter to drain out accumulated water from them.

Water in fuel pipes can freeze and create blockages.

(4) If you have no alternative but to use tap water only as radiator coolant, you must drain all water from the engine

and radiator at the end of work. Place a clear sign to warn "No coolant" to avoid problems the next morning.

(5) If there is water on the part of the key which you insert into the lock of the toolbox or elsewhere, it could freeze

overnight and jam the lock. Always wipe water oﬀ the part for the key.

10-2 Handling under extreme heat

When using this machine under extreme heat, inspect and monitor the cooling system with great care to avoid any

reduction of cooling eﬃciency.

(1) Always keep the coolant up to the rated level and check that the cooling system is not leaking.
(2)

Check for blockages in the protector net and cooling ﬁns of the oil cooler and the radiator.

Remove the wing bolts from the protector net to take oﬀ the protector net.

②

Check that nothing is clogging the cooling ﬁns of the radiator, the oil cooler and the intercooler.

③

Clean dust and debris oﬀ the protector net.
