For safe operation

(1) Engine fuel

and ﬁlter maintenance

Only use speciﬁed fuel.

Using anything other than the speciﬁed fuel is not covered by the warranty, of course, but also could cause a major

malfunction. In addition, the appropriate fuel ﬁlter element for this engine has been speciﬁed as well, so it is

important to use genuine KATO fuel elements.

(2) Fuel
1) Selecting fuel

Diesel engine fuel should satisfy the following criteria.

①

Does not contain even ﬁne dust

②

Has adequate viscosity

③

Has a high cetane number

④

Has good low-temperature ﬂowability

⑤

Has low sulfur content (10ppm or less)

⑥

Has low carbon residue

Use standard automotive diesel fuels that meet the requirements above.

Never use diesel fuel that does not meet the requirements. Doing so may prevent maximizing the
functionality and performance of the engine and may cause engine malfunction or failure.
Any malfunction or failure resulting from using non-specified fuel is not covered by the
warranty.
