2. When you replace the system-board tray, you must either update the server with

the latest firmware or restore the pre-existing firmware that the customer
provides on a diskette or CD image. Make sure that you have the latest
firmware or a copy of the pre-existing firmware before you proceed.

3. When you replace the system-board tray, make sure that you remove the

Integrated Management Module Advanced Upgrade and place it on the new
system-board tray. For information about the Advanced Upgrade, see “Using the
remote presence capability and blue-screen capture” on page 353.

4. See “System-board internal connectors” on page 12 for the locations of the

connectors on the system-board tray.

5. When you replace the system-board tray, make sure that you keep the

information of machine type (M/T), serial number (S/N), and product ID from
node serial number label (see “Problem determination tips” on page 258), and
write them down to the repair ID tag accompanied with the FRU of the
system-board. Then, paste the tag onto the bottom side of the new
system-board tray.

To remove the system-board tray, complete the following steps.
