•

The

SX-FIL3U-6-IPV4

PROM supports IPv4 routing only.

•

IPv6 routing services, available only with the IPv6 PROM (

SX-FIL3U-6-IPV6

), require software release

04.1.00 or later.  However, beginning with software release 04.0.01, IPv6 PROMs may be installed in IPv6
management modules. When an IPv6 PROM is installed in an IPv6 module running software release
04.0.01, IPv4 routing only will be supported.  When this system is upgraded to software release 04.1.00, both
IPv4 and IPv6 routing services will be supported.  IPv6 management modules configured with IPv6 PROMs
must operate with release 04.0.01 or later.  Earlier software releases do no recognize the IPv6 PROMs.

•

IPv4 management modules do not support the Layer 3 upgrade kits designed for IPv6 management modules.
Likewise, the IPv6 management modules do not support the Layer 3 upgrade kits designed for IPv4
management modules.

•

FastIron chassis devices do not support the Layer 3 upgrade kits designed for the FastIron stackable
switches. Likewise, FastIron stackable switches do not support the Layer 3 upgrade kits designed for the
FastIron chassis devices.
