Viewing recorded SMPTE events
The
ESCS allows you to view recorded SMPTE events in several ways. If you are
using the
PSC with a digitizer, you may use the digitizer, or the Maintenance
panel. If you are using an
RSC (or a PSC without a digitizer) you are limited to
using only the Maintenance panel.
Viewing SMPTE events with the digitizer and internal clock
To view the SMPTE program using the digitizer and internal clock:
1.
Press [Stage].
2.
Press [Time], then enter the SMPTE time of the first event you want to
view, or enter zero to start at the beginning of the SMPTE program. Either
use the keypad to enter a time, or use the [+] and [-] keys until the desired
time is displayed in the keypad prompt window in the upper right corner of
the display.
3.
Press [Enter] to start the internal clock running at the desired SMPTE time.
Each SMPTE event will run at its recorded time.
Viewing SMPTE events manually with the digitizer
The [Manual], [Pause], and [Step] keys on the digitizer allow you to view SMPTE
events with no external SMPTE time input and without the
ESCS’s internal clock.
[Time] allows you to select an event by specifying its SMPTE time.
Follow these steps to select and run SMPTE events out of recorded sequence if
you are using the
PSC with a digitizer.
1.
Press [Stage].
2.
Press [Manual] to interrupt SMPTE input and reset the
PSC to the first
recorded SMPTE event, or press [Pause] to interrupt SMPTE input at
current SMPTE event.
3.
To advance to the next recorded SMPTE event, press [Step]. (In Manual
mode, pressing [Step] runs the first recorded SMPTE event.)
4.
To advance to a SMPTE event out of recorded sequence, press SMPTE
[Time], then enter the desired SMPTE time and press [Enter].
5.
Repeat step 3 to advance sequentially, or step 4 to select other SMPTE
events out of sequence.
6.
If you are in Manual mode, press [Manual] again to return to normal
operation. If you are in Pause mode, press [Pause] again to return to
normal operation. In either case, the flow of SMPTE code will be resumed.
Note: Always press [Manual] or [Pause] to interrupt SMPTE code when you
are programming the ESCS. This prevents SMPTE events from running
while you are working.
