Expression Show Control System
Maintenance panel
The Maintenance panel consists of eight buttons, an LCD display and six indica-
tor LEDs on the face panel of the
Expression Show Control System processor
unit. It allows you to control recorded SMPTE events manually, and to run
macros 636 through 640.
Note: If you have not recorded macros 636 through 640, pressing the macro
buttons on the Maintenance panel has no effect.
SMPTE override controls
The Maintenance panel allows you to control SMPTE events manually via the
three buttons labeled
Manual, Pause
and
Step.
Manual
Press [Manual] to interrupt the input of SMPTE time code and reset the
Expres-
sion Show Control System to the first recorded SMPTE event.
Manual
appears
in the LCD display to indicate that the
Expression Show Control System is in
manual mode
. Press [Step] to run the first recorded SMPTE event. Press [Step]
once to run each subsequent SMPTE event. Press [Manual] again to return to
normal operation.
Pause
Press [Pause] to interrupt the input of SMPTE time code without resetting the
Expression Show Control System to the first recorded SMPTE event.
Pause
appears in the LCD display to indicate that the
Expression Show Control System
is in Pause mode. Press [Step] to run the next recorded SMPTE event. Press
[Step] once to run each subsequent SMPTE event. Press [Pause] again to return
to normal operation.
Step
[Step] allows you to run individual SMPTE events in either Manual or Pause
mode. Each time you press [Step] the next consecutive SMPTE event runs.
Macros
The buttons labeled
M636, M637, M638, M639, and M640 allow you to run
macros 636, 637, 638, 639, and 640 respectively. Press the desired button to
start the corresponding macro.
Note: You should press either [Manual] or [Pause] to interrupt SMPTE input
before using the macro buttons.
