Installing hardware

The site administrator is responsible for installing the user software shipped with the E-85A onto networked Windows
and Mac OS computers that will print to the E-85A (user documentation is also included).
Unpacking the E-85A
The E-85A ships with all of the cables and documentation required for setup.
The E-85A weighs approximately 22kg. At least two persons are required to move the device.
To unpack the E-85A
It is strongly recommended that you save all packing materials in case you need them later (for example, if you discover
something is damaged and need to return it). Do not immediately discard packing materials.

Remove the top cover from the main shipping container.

Remove the box that contains the E-85A.

Remove the accessory kit from the E-85A box and check it for damage.

Remove the media pack from the accessory kit and check it for damage.

Carefully lift the E-85A out of the box.
Connecting the E-85A
Before you connect the E-85A, it is strongly recommended that you review all
on page 10 to avoid injury or
damage to the E-85A. You must connect the following to the E-85A:

Power cable
•
Printer interface cable (lower RJ-45)
•
Network cable
•
Monitor cable (option)
•
Wireless adapter for keyboard and mouse (option for furniture)
•
USB cable with Type A and B connectors for power synchronization (see
)
