Receiving a call while Answer Machine is set
When there is an incoming call while Answer Machine is set, it operates in the steps given below.

A call is received.
After the ring tone sounds according to the Greeting Response Time setting, “Greeting” screen is
displayed and the Answer Machine automatically answers the call.

When the greeting is set to “Preinstalled”, the caller hears the message, “I cannot answer the
phone right now, please leave your name and message after the beep(in Japanese)”. When
“Personalized” is set for the greeting, the message recorded with your voice is played.

The other party’s message is recorded.

A beep announces the other party the start and end of the recording. And when about 25
seconds have elapsed since the start of recording, rapid beeps are heard to warn that the end of
recording is approaching.

When the recording is completed, the call is disconnected.

If there is any recorded message not checked, the icon ( ) which indicates the number of
recorded messages is indicated on the stand-by display. If is selected, the recorded
message list is displayed.

You can answer a call while the phone is ringing, playing, response guidance or recording a message.
Pressing
n
answers the call as a normal voice or video-phone call (substitute image is sent to the other
party) and pressing
t
sends your portrait and answers the call as a video-phone. In case of a voice call,
you can also answer the call by opening FOMA terminal.

If the message is on recording at this time, the contents before receiving the call will not be recorded.

When is indicated, the Answer Machine does not operate. Use Voice Mail Service (paid service)
when you would like to record a message in the out-of-service area.

● Answer Machine cannot be started and the ring tone keeps sounding when 4 messages have already
been recorded. If Voice Mail Service and Call Forwarding Service functions are set to start, each service
start their operation.

● Driving Mode has priority over Answer Machine and does not operate in Driving Mode.

The recording may be disrupted if the signal conditions are poor.

Calls replied by Answer Machine are recorded in Received Calls.
● Incoming calls received while recording a message are rejected and recording continues. If you
subscribe to Call Waiting Service, such incoming calls are recorded in Received Calls.
● When video-phone is answered with Answer Machine, the image for recording video-phone message is
sent to the other party.
The image during the video-phone message recording can be changed.
