Answer Machine
Allowing the caller to leave message when you cannot answer the call
By setting Answer Machine, a greeting will be played and the caller can leave a recorded
message when you cannot answer the call.
･
You can record up to 4 voice and video-phone calls in total, a maximum of approximately 30 seconds
for each call.
･
The date and time and the phone number of recorded message are also recorded. However, when
the date and time have not been set to FOMA terminal, or the phone number is not notified, they are
not recorded.

Answer Machine can respond a video-phone call, but it records only voice messages as when
answering a voice call and the image is not recorded.

You can set the time interval between the reception of the call and the start of the greeting.

It is advisable that the contents of recorded messages be separately written down in a notebook, etc.
Data may be lost due to failure, repair or modifications of FOMA terminal. If data should be erased,
DoCoMo assumes no responsibility for the loss of any data.

When Answer Machine has not been set to start, you can activate the function only once by holding
down

for over a second while the phone is ringing. This operation does not set the Answer
Machine to start.
● In Driving Mode, a call from a number set for Sender in Remote Lock is counted as an incoming call to
activate Remote Lock.
● This function cannot be set during data communication.
● Any call that arrives during i-mode with Driving Mode activated is rejected and recorded in Received
Calls. Voice Mail Service or Call Forwarding Service performs its own incoming operation.
Replying with Quick Record Message
INFORMATION
● When the total recorded numbers of the recorded message become 4, is indicated on the stand-by
display. The icon does not disappear even if the Answer Machine is canceled.
● If there are already 4 record messages, Answer Machine cannot be set. If you attempt to activate Quick
Record Message by holding down
C
for over a second, while the phone is ringing, a warning tone
(bleep) sounds and the ring tone keeps sounding. If Voice Mail Service and Call Forwarding Service
functions are set to start, each services start their operation. Delete unnecessary recorded messages
and set again.
