Compose SMS
Composing and sending Short Message (SMS)
You compose and send Short Message (SMS). Short Message (SMS) can be saved without sending.
･
If you use one-byte katakana and pictograms, the receiver may not be able to display them correctly.
･
Up to 200 unsent mail/messages can be saved.
･ Short Message (SMS) will be able to be sent/received to/from parties using overseas carriers other
than DoCoMo. Please visit the DoCoMo website for the service starting date and oversea carriers
available.
Composing and sending Short Message (SMS) by entering address directly

Select “Direct input” and enter the address.

When the address is registered in the phonebook, the registered name is displayed in field.

To send to a party using an overseas carrier other than DoCoMo, enter “+” (by pressing
0
for
over a second) and the country code plus the party’s mobile phone number (omit the first “0” of
the phone number).

Searching phonebook

Select “View phonebook”.

Search the phonebook and select a phone number.
Enter the phone number of the other party’s FOMA terminal.

Select and enter message.

When the font type is set to “Japanese” in SMS Setting, up to 70 two-byte or
one-byte characters can be entered.

When the font type is set to “English” in SMS Setting, up to 160 one-byte alphanumeric
characters and symbols (except

Line feeds can be inserted in the message. Press

Method. A line feed is counted as a character of message.
